It remains unclear to many Chelsea and Manchester United fans whether Jadon Sancho will sign permanently with the Blues or return to Old Trafford this summer.
Jadon Sancho’s loan with obligation clause has been triggered as Chelsea can no longer finish below 15th following their win away at Fulham on Sunday.

Previously, many reports have claimed that Chelsea can opt out of their obligation to buy Sancho if they pay a small “penalty” fee to Manchester United at the end of his loan.
These rumors surfaced when Sancho’s performances dipped—much like the rest of the Chelsea team—at the start of 2025.
Since the former Dortmund man joined Chelsea, he has delivered a few magical moments. Sancho has scored just three times in the Premier League and provided five assists. In all competitions, he has tallied three goals and ten assists in just over 30 appearances.
This begs the question: Should Chelsea buy Jadon Sancho permanently or let him return to Manchester United this summer?
Reasons Why Chelsea Should Buy Jadon Sancho

First is the transfer fee. Chelsea would get a winger once rated as one of the best in the world for just £25 million. With Sancho’s contributions, he could serve as the perfect substitute winger if Chelsea decide to sign a top starting left-winger. Regardless of who Chelsea bring in, Sancho would always provide solid competition for that position.
Sancho’s versatility also makes a strong case for signing him permanently. The Englishman is comfortable playing both on the right and on the left side of Chelsea’s attack.
Reasons Why Chelsea Should Let Him Go

If Sancho’s performances this season are his version of trying to “impress,” a serious drop-off might follow once he signs permanently—just like what happened at Manchester United.
Also, Chelsea have an exciting talent in Tyrique George coming through the ranks. The club could choose to believe in the youngster and let Sancho return to Manchester United, while promoting George as a backup for whoever they sign for the left-wing position.
What do you think? Has Jadon Sancho done enough for Chelsea to take a £25 million risk on him? Or should the Blues move on and find a better winger this coming summer?
