Chelsea have announced the departure of Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender will sign for La Liga giants Barcelona. Christensen joined Chelsea as a 15-year-old kid back in 2012. He went on to establish himself as a first team regular after his two-year loan in Germany with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Since returning in 2017, Christensen has made over 120 league appearances for Chelsea. His highest contribution for the club will be how he slotted in perfectly to replace Thiago Silva in the final of the UEFA Champions League last year.

Andreas Christensen leaves Chelsea having won the UCL, Super Cup, Europa League, The FA Cup, Carling Cup and also the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Blues also announced the depature of Danny Drinkwater, Jake Clark-Salter, and Belgian forward Charly Musonda. Musonda brings to an end, an injury-laden time at Chelsea.

A winger with so much promise. A lot was expected from the Belgian winger when he broke into the first team under Antoio Conte in 2017, but he could not keep his place due to recurring injuries.
