- The French International Will Join Chelsea This Summer
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku. The former PSG star joins Chelsea on a 6-year-deal for a fee rumoured to be around €60m.
Nkunku joined RB Leipzig back in 2019 from PSG and went on to enjoy 4 successful seasons with the German side. Nkunku scored 70 goals and also provided 56 assists in a little over 170 appearances.
Christopher Nkunku is an impressive forward who can also sit as the creative spark at the tip of a midfield trio and also play as a false 9 or a supporting striker role for Chelsea. The Blues will be hoping the French star brings his goals, fluidity and his assists to help Chelsea get back to challenging for important trophies.
Nkunku also expressed his delight over completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
‘I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea,’ said Nkunku. ‘A big effort was made to bring me to the club, and I am looking forward to meeting my new coach and teammates and showing the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch.“
Nkunku also becomes Chelsea’s second signing of this summer as The Blues continue revitalizing their squad.
With stars like Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Ngolo Kante set to leave, Nkunku will not be the only first-team arrival this summer.
Chelsea are close to signing Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal and are still in talks to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
