- Chelsea Close To Agreeing Personal Terms With Mohammed Kudus
According to The Athletic, Chelsea Football Club have contacted Ajax about a potential transfer for attacker Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian attacker who is also being targeted by Brighton and Arsenal is close to agreeing personal terms with Chelsea.
The Blues are keen on signing an attacking midfielder after the sale of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and Christian Pulisic.
The 22-year-old can play as an attacking midfielder, a winger, or even as a Center forward. He is as versatile as Chelsea new boy Christopher Nkunku.
Kudus is valued around €40M on Transfermkt, but it is expected that Ajax demand €5m – €10 million more than that from Chelsea.
Mohammed Kudus was one of the impressive players in the Ajax squad last season, despite their inconsistencies. The Ghanaian scored 11 times and provided 4 assists in 30 matches.
He also represented Ghana at the 2022 FIFA Wold Cup, where he scored two impressive goals against South Korea, in Ghana’s only victory at the tournament.
Kudus played 16 times as a center forward for Ajax last season, 9 times as an attacking midfielder and 17 times on the right wing.
Chelsea have also been linked with the signing of Rayan Cherki from Olympic Lyonnais. However, with recent developments, it looks like Chelsea are picking Kudus over the 19-year-old French midfielder.
