- Clubs like Manchester United and Spurs are monitoring the Frenchman’s situation
Premier League clubs are monitoring Jules Kounde’s situation at Barça. The French defender reportedly wants out of the club because wants to play as a centre-back and not a right-back.
Jules Kounde was close to joining Chelsea last summer before Barça signed him. The Frenchman has since played as a right-back for the Catalans 21 times, with Xavi mostly opting for Christensen and Ronald Araújo partnership at the center of defence.
Kounde will leave Spain if Barça cannot guarantee him a place as a starting XI centre-back at the club.
Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation, and waiting if a move will be possible this summer.
Manchester United want to sign another defender this summer, with Napoli star Kim Min-jae linked with a move to Old Trafford. However, if a deal for Min-jae looks too far off, United could swoop for Jules Kounde.
Barcelona value Kounde around €70M. The club could also sanction a sale if it comes at a significant profit, as it will help ease the financial problems at the club.
