Tossyardkings Puts Together The Best Players In The EPL, So Far This Season..
It has been an interesting season so far in the EPL. The season is at the halfway point The three title contenders have surely entertained us, but so have other teams. Some teams are still on the path to achieving the goals they set back in August, while some others have derailed.
Teams like Manchester United and Leicester City have been disappointing this season. However, it is good to see a team like Arsenal get some stability.
Some players are currently having their best year in the Premier League, Defending, Passing, scoring, and assisting goals. Let`s take a look at the best players in each position in the League according to Tossyardkings.
GK- Edouard Mendy
Arguably, the Chelsea goalie has been the best goalkeeper in Europe since he moved from Rennes to Stamford Bridge. After his Champions League triumph with Chelsea, the Senegalese continued his superb form this season, making important saves and bailing Chelsea out on numerous occasions.
Mendy has also kept eight clean sheets for Chelsea this season.
RB- Trent Alexander-Arnold
The Liverpudlian has been in superb form all season long contributing two goals and eight assists to Liverpool`s attack this season. His team has also kept nine clean sheets this season.
CB- Antonio Rudiger
A Fast and aggressive defender. Antonio Rudiger has found new life in Thomas Tuchel`s system at Stamford Bridge.
He has been performing well all season long for Chelsea alongside veteran Thiago Silva.
CB- Rúben dos Santos Gato Alves Dias
Ruben Dias has been fantastic since joining Manchester City. The Portuguese put a disappointing Euro 2020 performance behind him and he is back performing for the Citizens. He is a very important part of a City team that holds a 6-point advantage over rivals Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the League.
LB- Joao Cancelo
Cancelo might not be a left-back, but his versatility means he can play that position for Manchester City whenever needed. Cancelo has been superb this season for Manchester City, scoring once and assisting four times.
DM- Rodrigo Hernández Cascante
Rodri has been at the heart of everything for league leaders Manchester City this season. He is the best defensive midfielder currently in the league. The Spaniard goes about his business calmly and efficiently. He is the base for a midfield that is full of flair.
CM- Connor Gallagher
The Chelsea loanee has settled well in South London. He has been Crystal Palace`s best player this season and by a mile. With 6 goals and 3 assists, not many central midfielders in the EPL can boast the same numbers. Gallagher also boasts a very good work rate with 105 recoveries and 109 duels won.
CM- Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho e Silva
Bernardo has been brilliant for Pep Guardiola this season. The Portuguese forward has played almost everywhere in attack for Guardiola`s men this term and he has excelled. Bernardo Silva has helped City with seven goals and one assist this term, classy from a player City almost sold in the summer.
RM/RF- Mohamed Salah
His Christmas photo might have caused an uproar on social media, but Mohamed Salah has simply been the best player in the Premier League this season. Scoring goals aplenty and providing for his teammates too. He has been directly involved in 24 goals for Liverpool in the EPL this season.
LW/LF- Diogo José Teixeira da Silva
What a player Diogo Jota is, he is so suited to the way Liverpool plays. The Portuguese has scored 10 Premier League goals this term, but that does not do him justice. Jota is fast, and deadly inside the box, he is the only player that can put Firmino on the bench at Anfield.
ST- Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis
The Nigerian has been a revelation in the EPL this year. After moving from Club Brugge to Watford, many doubted if the Nigerian could make it in the Premier League. Emmanuel Dennis has answered his doubters with 8 Premier League goals and 5 assists so far. With goals against teams like Manchester United, and Chelsea. Even if Watford gets relegated, a player like him will be quickly snapped up by other Premier League clubs.
