The Premier League delivered another interesting weekend, with Arsenal maintaining their perfect start while Manchester City edged Manchester United in a dramatic derby.

Chelsea also dropped more points at home, Liverpool failed to beat Fulham, and Tottenham’s scoring problems continued against Everton.

Chelsea 2-2 Hull City

Chelsea’s defensive problems continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Hull City at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues took the lead early, but Hull fought back and showed exactly why they have started the season so well.

Mohamed Belloumi scored twice for the visitors before João Pedro rescued a point for Chelsea late in the game. Chelsea continue to look dangerous going forward, but their defensive problems are becoming impossible to ignore. Scoring goals is not the problem for Xabi Alonso’s side. Keeping them out is.

Manchester United 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City won the Manchester derby, but this was far from a straightforward victory.

Phil Foden received a red card in the first half, leaving City with 10 men for more than an hour.

United had the numerical advantage but failed to make it count. Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo both hit the woodwork, but United could not find the breakthrough. Erling Haaland eventually punished them in the second half to give City a 1-0 win.

It was another frustrating afternoon for United, who had more than enough opportunities to get something from the game.

Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal continued their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 win away against Sunderland.

The Gunners had to work for the victory, with Sunderland making life difficult for them, but Arsenal eventually found the breakthrough through Bruno Guimaraes.

David Raya also played a huge role by saving a penalty before Bukayo Saka sealed the win from the spot in stoppage time.

Arsenal now have four wins from four games, and Mikel Arteta will be delighted with the consistency his team has shown so far.

Liverpool 0-0 Fulham

Liverpool dropped two more points after Fulham held them to a goalless draw at Anfield.

The Reds struggled to create enough clear chances and looked short of the freshness and sharpness needed to break down a Fulham side that defended well.

For Liverpool, this result will feel like two points dropped, especially at home.

The bigger concern, however, will be how difficult they found it to create opportunities against a team they would normally expect to beat.

Tottenham 0-0 Everton

Tottenham’s attacking problems continued as they failed to score against Everton.

The 0-0 draw means Spurs are still searching for their first Premier League goal of the season, which is a major concern this early in the campaign.

Everton will be happier with the result, having managed to keep Tottenham quiet and leave with a point.

For Tottenham, however, something needs to change quickly because you cannot win Premier League games if you cannot score.

Arsenal Keep Rolling

After another weekend of Premier League action, Arsenal remain perfect with four wins from four.

Manchester City are also keeping pace after their derby victory, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all dropped points.

The season is still young, but the early signs are already clear: Arsenal and City are setting the pace, while some of the traditional contenders still have plenty of work to do.
