West Ham are out of the Europa League
Frankfurt v West Ham Match Summary
The referee blows the final whistle, and it will be Eintracht Frankfurt who will play Rangers in the final of the Europa League. They were helped early on, when the visitors went down to 10 men. A long ball over the top caused all sorts of havoc, and Cresswell chose to drag down Hauge.
The defender was initially awarded just a yellow card, but after a VAR check the referee chose to instead send him off. It got worse for the Hammers soon after, when Knauff picked out Borre in the box with a low cross. The striker made no mistake with the finish, and sent it into the bottom left corner past Areola to make it 1-0. The visitors huffed and puffed late on, going close with Antonio and Soucek. However, they couldn’t find a way through, and it’s the German side who advance.
Roma will face Feyenoord in Triana in the final of the Conference League.
Roma have set up a final against Feyenoord, who beat Marseille 3-2 on aggregate in the other game. They’ll meet in Albania on the 25th May. Leicester miss out on their first European final.
