Mikel Arteta has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Arsenal till 2025.

Arteta has led Arsenal’s charge for Champions League football this season. The Gunners are currently in that position, but face an immaculate test against Tottenham to claim the fourth spot.

Arsenal director Edu has reiterated the club’s dedication to supporting the Spaniard.

Arteta is expected to rebuild a team worthy of challenging for trophies again and qualifying for the Champions League will be important.

He talked about the short-term and long-term ambitions of the club shortly after he signed the extension 

“To take the club to the next level and to compete really with the top teams. To do that, we have to be playing in the Champions League. We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connections with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level.”
