- Florian Wirtz on the Verge of Signing for Liverpool
Liverpool are in advanced talks with the entourage of Florian Wirtz as they have moved ahead of Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 22-year-old German midfielder.
Manchester City led the race for Wirtz’s signature weeks ago, but then some reports started suggesting Wirtz might want to remain in Germany, which shifted the advantage toward Bayern Munich. However, after visiting Liverpool, the German now favours a move to the north of England.
The latest reports reveal that Liverpool have already sealed contractual agreements with Florian Wirtz. The Merseyside club and Bayer Leverkusen are now ironing out the details of the transfer fee payment, as Florian Wirtz wants to sign only for Liverpool.

Wirtz has enjoyed a brilliant career in Germany so far. In the just-concluded 2024/25 season, the German scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in all competitions. His best season so far in his career came in the 2023/24 campaign, where he registered 18 goals and 20 assists in all competitions.
Beyond the goals and assists, Florian Wirtz is an amazing footballer and the future of the German national team. He is a versatile attacker who can play comfortably on both wings, in attacking midfield, and occasionally as a false number nine.
This move marks a major coup for Liverpool as the club looks to improve their title-winning squad and aim for more trophies next season.
They have already signed Jeremie Frimpong to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold and are in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez. Adding Wirtz to the list of arrivals will certainly elevate expectations for next season and the seasons beyond.
