Real Madrid have completed the signing of Turkish young talent Arda Guler from Fenerbahçe for a €20m plus €10m add-ons.

The youngster had a fantastic 2022/23 season in the Turkish top flight, but not many really know 18-year-old dubbed the “Turkish Messi”.

It’s a little difficult to tell you about the formative years of an 18-year-old player, because… Well, he is still only 18, but, Arda Guler did not start impressing this year.

Born in Ankara, Turkey, he began his career with Gençlerbirliği, before joining Fenerbahçe 4 years ago. He made his debut for Fenerbahçe in a Europa League match at age 16.

Guler started getting playing time early despite his small frame. In his first League game for Fenerbahçe, he provided an 89th minute assist to help Miha Zajc score the winning goal of the game.

Strengths

Despite all his strengths, the major concern for Arda Guler still remains how small he is, and sometimes how he can get carried away looking for the next dribble.
