It's Now Or Never For Manchester City

“Pep Guardiola over tweaked his XI against Chelsea in the UCL Final”, “Rodri should have played”, “Aguero should have started” – These were excuses people gave after City lost the 2021 UCL Final to Chelsea in Portugal.

Well, now Pep Guardiola and City have another Chance to go at it in Istanbul against Inter Milan after they thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 in Manchester on Wednesday.

It will be Pep’s best chance to finally win the UEFA Champions League since 2011 and against a different opponent than Manchester United.

Manchester City are overwhelming favourites for this, too, with all due respect to Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri will have to understand their underdog role, and embrace it, if they are to stand a chance against this all-conquering Manchester City side.

Now or Never For Manchester City

This is where Manchester City start setting their European pedigree, this is where it has to begin. They have to get it right in the final, and not underestimate an Italian side in the Final of a major European Competition, as that could be a fatal mistake.

Since Sheik Mansour bought the club in 2008, City have grown to become a dominant force in the Premier League, but despite their local dominance they haven’t been able to replicate it on any level in Europe.

The 2021 final loss against Chelsea, and last season’s dramatic loss against Madrid showed that Guardiola and his City side needed more time to become more efficient, but if they miss it again this season against Inter Milan, it would be hard to recover from.

So, Pep has to throw all overthinking or “over-tweaking” out the window, and focus on what has been working fr his team all season long, and they are sure to win the UEFA Champions League and potentially complete the Treble.
