Monday night was a disappointing one for the Los Angeles Lakers. Not just because of what happened on the floor in their 105-75 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

LeBron James had just four points (scoring four of five free throws). A poor zero out of seven from the field in his 16 minutes.

Patrick Beverley, one of the Lakers’ star signings this season, scored eight points on one-of-five shooting from the field in 13 minutes.

The criticized Russell Westbrook scored five points (two of three from the field), as well as two rebounds and three assists in 14 minutes.

Anthony Davis had 11 points and 11 rebounds in 16 minutes to be the top scorer and rebounder for Lakers. But it was a disappointing night overall.

Keegan Murray (16 points), De’Aaron Fox (10) and Richaun Holmes (10) were the three Kings players in double figures.

The Westbrook Situation 

Besides the poor result, it also emerged that the Lakers reached an agreement with the Pacers to trade Westbrook. However the point guard decided to stay. 

Prior to the game, it was reported that the Lakers tried to trade Westbrook before the pre-season and had reached a trade agreement with the Pacers.

According to The Athletic, Westbrook was set to play in Indiana, while Myles Turner and Buddy Hield would join LeBron James on the Lakers.

Ultimately, Rob Pelinka decided to bet on Westbrook’s continuity.
