Lamine Yamal is ready to spearhead Barcelona’s bid for a Champions League quarter-final comeback against Atletico Madrid in Tuesday’s second leg at the Metropolitano.
Barcelona trail 2-0 from the first leg at Camp Nou after a frustrating 0-2 defeat on April 8, but the 18-year-old superstar remains defiant.
In a strong message to fans and teammates, Yamal declared: “It’s not over yet, culers. We will give everything in the second leg”
❝ We promise that if we get eliminated, it will be fighting until the very end. The comeback is possible. ❞

He added that a comeback is possible and urged supporters to pack the stadium, insisting “miracles can happen.”
Yamal’s words carry weight after his standout performance over the weekend. In Barcelona’s 4-1 La Liga win over Espanyol on April 12, he scored one goal and provided an assist, continuing his electric form. The teenager tormented Atletico’s defence in the first leg with eight successful dribbles, three chances created and multiple mazy runs, earning high praise despite the result.
This season, Yamal has been sensational: 22 goals and 17 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. In La Liga alone, he has 15 goals and 11 assists in 27 matches, making him one of Europe’s most productive young attackers.
At just 18, wearing the iconic No.10 shirt, Yamal has already shown maturity beyond his years. With Barcelona needing at least two goals in Madrid to force extra time, Hansi Flick will rely heavily on the Rocafonda-born winger’s creativity, pace and fearlessness.
If anyone can inspire a famous remontada, it is Lamine Yamal.
