- LEEDS 3-0 CHELSEA
- BLUES EXPOSED IN EMBARASSING DISPLAY
Match Summary
Leeds clinch a superb 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Elland Road. A thrilling game that had it all, goals, great chances and even a red card. Aaronson and Rodrigo fired Leeds into a 2-0 lead at the break, despite Chelsea starting the game well as Sterling had a goal ruled out for offside early on.
The visitors pushed forward after the restart and Gallagher forced Meslier into making a fine save. However, Leeds never stopped at the other end and Harrison scored the third to make it a comfortable win. It went from bad to worse for Chelsea on 84 minutes, as Koulibaly was shown a second yellow and then sent off for a blatant foul, so the visitors ended the match with 10-men.
Blues exposed at the back
After their impressive performance against Spurs last week, many thought Chelsea would easily sweep Leeds aside, but that was not the case on Sunday afternoon in West Yorkshire. Leeds started the game with so much intensity, and press; the Chelsea backline and midfield base just could not control. Aaronson and Rodrigo were the chief tormentors when it came to pressing the Chelsea backline. The American was rewarded, and the Chelsea team capitulated from then on. Leeds exposed Chelsea‘s lack of a good midfield base especially with the absence of Mateo Kovacic and N’golo Kante.
More woes to come for them..
