Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Ekitike this summer

Hugo Ekitike will join the Reds this season as part of the phenomenal squad rebuild underway at Anfield. The Reds have already spent over £200 million on Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.

Top clubs have pursued Ekitiké all summer. The Frenchman initially attracted interest from Chelsea, but the Blues chose Joao Pedro instead. Newcastle nearly secured a deal with Frankfurt, but Liverpool stepped ahead and signed the former PSG forward.

Highly rated, Ekitiké has drawn comparisons to stars like Alexander Isak and other French legends. He moved from Reims to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 but failed to break into the starting line up.

After securing a loan move to Frankfurt, everything changed for the Frenchman. Last season, he scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions.

Liverpool view him as the ideal Roberto Firmino replacement—a striker who can play between the lines, a young, energetic runner capable of stretching defenses, and someone who can link up with the likes of Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah in attack.

Ekitiké will travel to Liverpool this week to finalize his move ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
