Manchester United have reportedly held club to club talks with Aston Villa over striker Ollie Watkins, while Liverpool are prepared to break the British transfer record to sign Alexander Isak.

Villa value the 29-year-old England international, who scored 16 goals and provided eight assists last term, at around £60 million. However, United’s pursuit may depend on offloading players like Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony, who was impressive on loan at Real Betis last season.

Watkins, contracted until 2028, is seen as a reliable Premier League goalscorer, though Villa are reluctant to sell.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are poised to shatter the British transfer record with a £130 million bid for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old Swedish striker, who has scored 54 goals in 86 Premier League games, has expressed interest in exploring a transfer, prompting Liverpool’s aggressive move.

Newcastle, however, remain firm that Isak is not for sale, with talks stalled over a new contract. The Magpies are expected to resist for as long as possible but will target Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as a replacement, should the Swede depart.
