Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri for €40m. The Algerian defender will sign a four-year deal with Manchester City, and he expects to join up with City’s squad for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in a couple of days.

City have continued the aggressive squad rebuilding they started in January. The Citizens have also agreed a deal to sign AC Milan ace Tijjani Reijnders and are holding advanced talks to sign Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyon, alongside this deal for Rayan Ait Nouri.

Aït-Nouri has enjoyed a brilliant couple of years at Wolverhampton Wanderers on an individual level. The Algerian was one of the best players at the club last season and played a major role in helping Wolves escape relegation struggles early this season.

Aït-Nouri scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in the Premier League this campaign, and his playing style and technical excellence make Pep Guardiola see him as an ideal profile to help elevate his squad this summer.

Manchester City will most likely move back to a system that allows them to dominate matches and become more effective on the wings once again with the signing of Rayan Aït-Nouri.

City still want to sign more players even after they complete the signings of Aït-Nouri, Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders. However, those additions will come after they sell some players. Players like Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker are expected to leave the club.
