Andre Onana ‘s Manchester United Deal
Onana will sign a 5-year-deal with Manchester United with an option to extend till 2029. The deal could be worth around €50M.
Inter signed Onana on a free from Ajax just last summer, but the Cameroonian enjoyed one of his best campaigns yet last season with the Nerrazzuri. He helped Inaghi’s men to two domestic trophies and also the final of the UEFA Champions League.
Erik ten Hag will finally get his ideal goalkeeper in Onana.
For Manchester United last season, playing out from the back was often erroneous, Onana is the ideal goalkeeper to help ease that flaw in United’s game.
The criticism of United’s build up play from last season contributed heavily to the reason why the club did not renew David de Gea’s contract.
Onana will replace David de Gea just days after the Spanish goalkeeper left the club after 12 years as the club’s number one.
Manchester United are looking to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as back up for Onana. Dean Henderson is closing in on a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United averaged 53% of the ball last season in the Premier League. Ten Hag adapted well to the limitations of the squad by changing his philosophy & playing more direct football, but this summer is about evolving to reach the next level.
Onana is the key.
