Manchester United crash out of the Europa League after losing 3-0 against Sevilla. The Red devils were in charge of the tie in the first 80 minutes of the first leg, but Sevilla took over to earn a 2-2 draw in the first leg, and claim a shocking 3-0 win at the Sanchez Pizjuain. Sevilla took the lead in the last night thanks to an error by Harry Maguire, who was quickly pressured by Youssef En-Nesyri after receiving a pass from David de Gea.
Manchester United struggled to get a foot-hold on the game, especially without their chief creator, Bruno Fernandes. The Mancunians were all over the place as their attacks proved feeble against a determined Sevilla side.
A looping header from Bade just after the restart gave Sevilla more breathing space, and another error by David de Gea capped off the night for Manchester United as Yousuf En-Nesyri scored his second goal on the night to seal a spot in the final-four for the La Liga side.
Some key injuries have changed the dynamics of Manchester United’s core that has worked for most of the season. Injuries to the likes of Marcus Rashford, Lisandro Martínez and Varane has affected Manchester United, and contributed heavily to their elimination from the Europa League. Erik ten Hag will now focus on sealing a top four finish and maybe an FA Cup win to end an impressive, but challenging first season in charge at Old Trafford.
