Manchester United are reportedly keen on adding Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich to their ranks this summer.
Kimmich is widely regarded as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders. He has reportedly been unsettled at Bayern Munich for some time now, leading to speculation surrounding his future.
The Germany international, who is also proficient at right-back, has just over a year left on his current contract and Barcelona and Manchester City have been credited with strong interest in recent months.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Bayern’s €50m valuation is too much for Barcelona to bear financially. This has opened the door for Manchester United as they look for an upgrade in the middle of the park.
The Catalans would instead bank on him running down his contract and moving as a free agent in 2025.
That delay has potentially opened the door for the Red Devils to swoop in and land the 29-year-old, especially with the uncertainty surrounding the future of Brazilian Casemiro, and Christian Eriksen.
