Premier League gameweek 29 started with a dramatic tie involving Newcastle and West Ham. It was the perfect game to shake off the blues and drowsiness of the March international break. Chelsea indulged neutrals by encouraging an unnecessary drama at the bridge. Sheffield United and Fulham played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. Manchester United also dropped points away in West London.

It was an entertaining weekend, well, until the Manchester City v Arsenal’s bore fest at the Etihad… Liverpool have reclaimed top spot following their win at home to Brighton and a favourable result at the Etihad.

Let’s rank the top 5 best players from Premier League gameweek 29 of the 2023/24 season.

Cole Palmer

Another disappointing performance from Chelsea, but Cole Palmer continues to shine. Chelsea might have lost against Burnley without the impact and input of the former Manchester City academy graduate.

Bradley continues to prove himself as a reliable option for Jürgen Klopp. Conor Bradley was outstanding against a very stubborn Brighton side.

Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister was also important for the victory against Brighton, but Bradley’s input directly limited Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Bradley created 4 chances, completed the most dribbles (5), made the most tackles and also won 11 duels on Sunday.

Moussa Diaby

Despite observing Ramadan, Diaby treated fans to a delicious strike against Wolves on Sunday. The French star was incredible on the night for Unai Emery’s side. Diaby also assisted Ezri Konsa’s goal on the night.

Ben Brereton Diaz

Diaz was amazing for Sheffield United against Fulham. The 24-year-old Chilean almost single-handedly led Sheffield to their 5th victory of the season. Diaz scored the game’s opener in the 58th minute. He assisted Oliver Mcburnie 10 minutes later, before making the scoreline comfortably with a well-placed finish.

Unfortunately for him, Sheffield could not get the over the line as Fulham equalized late on, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of his performance.

Alexander Isak

Isak scored two penalties to help Newcastle get back to winning ways in dramatic fashion early on Saturday. The Swede scored the game’s opener from the spot, before West Ham replied with 3 goals to silence St James’s Park.
