- Lukaku and Scott McTominay Inspire Napoli to Scudetto triumph
Manchester United rejects Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku both scored to hand Napoli their second Scudetto in 3 years and their fourth title ever in the Italian top flight.

Going into the final week of the season in Italy, Inter Milan had dropped points late in their penultimate league game of the season against Lazio. So, Napoli just needed to win their home game against Cagliari to become league champions for the second time in 3 years.
Napoli Beat Cagliari 2-0 to Win 2024/25 Scudetto
After some nervy opening minutes, Napoli settled into the game and started creating chances while limiting their opponents on the night. The Naples side created good chances, but the defence of Cagliari, led by former Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, remained resilient.

However, that did not last long. Just after the 40th-minute mark, Napoli scored. A beautiful cross into the box from Politano found former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, who met it acrobatically and gave Antonio Conte’s side the lead—settling the nerves at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Napoli went into the break 1-0 up, but they wanted more, especially with the possibility of conceding late goals like they did in their previous two matches in the league.
Another former Manchester United player made sure the Neapolitans spent much of the second half celebrating. Romelu Lukaku received the ball isolated with Yerry Mina, but the Belgian proved too powerful for the Colombian.

Lukaku outpaced and overpowered Mina to arrive in the box, one-on-one with Cagliari goalkeeper Alen Sherri. Lukaku slotted the ball past Sherri and into the net to send the whole city of Naples into party mode.

Cagliari tried to make it nervy towards the end, but Conte and his boys wrapped up the league. Although Inter Milan defeated Como 2-0 at the Sinigaglia, that result meant nothing.
