Manchester United are interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest this summer. The English midfielder is a key piece in what the club wants to achieve for the 2026/27 campaign.

Manchester United want to continue with their new wage structure after bringing in proven Premier League stars like Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha on contracts well under £200,000. Manchester United see Morgan Gibbs-White as the perfect solution for their new system and as a phenomenal replacement for the ageing Bruno Fernandes.

The 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder could have left Manchester United in the summer, but the Red Devils rejected a £100 million bid from Saudi League side Al Hilal because they still see him as a crucial part of their immediate future.

However, with the growing possibility of United securing UEFA Champions League football again, The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United would like to trigger Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60 million release clause in the summer. They want to bring in the Englishman to support Bruno Fernandes for the 2026/27 campaign.

Gibbs-White had his break out season as a Premier League star in the 2023/24 season when he scored 5 times and assisted 10 goals. He consolidated last season also by registering 7 goals and 8 assists. and this season despite Forest struggling for the most part, he has scored 6 times and assisted twice.

Gibbs-White is reportedly part of a big summer plan for Manchester United to bring in top Premier League players who fit their wage structure.

The club also wants to sell players who have no place in the squad, like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, and more.
