After a few disappointing displays in previous games, Klay Thompson was back to his shooting best to lead the Warriors to a statement victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
A season-high 38 points that included 8 three-pointers earned the Warriors a 122-109 win on Saturday night. Klay played 34 minutes and shot 15-of-24 from the field. Klay returned to NBA action this season after recovering from surgery for a torn Achilles injury in 2020. He played his first game in 941 days on Jan. 9 after suffering a torn left ACL during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

What This Warriors’ Performance Means
This victory against the Bucks made it three wins in a row for the Warriors. Golden State (46-22) are now in third place in the Western Conference. They needed this stretch of results after a difficult run of games.
As for Klay Thompson, this was definitely his best performance of the season. The only other game at the same level as this was his 33-point performance against the Lakers. This was a vintage Thompson game. He hit 38 points on 15 of 23 shootings and was exceptional in his guarding of Khris Middleton all night.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr fielded an extra offensive lineup in this one. Both Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole started together for the first time and they were extremely effective. Steph Curry only had eight points on the night but the Warriors ran away with the win thanks to Klay Thompson.
