The Golden State Warriors got past the Denver Nuggets last night in a 123-107 game 1 victory. This was the first of a potential 7 game series to advance to the western conference semi-finals.

Individual Performances

Jordan Poole erupted for 30 points while Stephen Curry added 16 points in 22 minutes off the bench. This was Curry’s first game back after missing the previous 12 games with a left foot injury. His shooting was visibly rusty as he finished with a 5-of-13 shooting. Klay Thompson also contributed to the win, scoring 19 points.

Nikola Jokic scored 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Denver. Will Barton added 24 points for the Nuggets, who didn’t play anywhere near their best.

Jordan Poole’s Big Night.

Jordan Poole was finished with an impressive 9 of 13 shooting, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range. His performance tied Hall of Famer Mitch Richmond for the second-highest scoring playoff debut in Warriors’ history.

Jazz 99, Mavericks 93

Donovan Mitchell scored a game-high 32 points after a rough start to lead the Jazz to victory. Bojan Bogdanovic had 26 to help take advantage of Luka Doncic’s absence due to a calf injury. Dallas will be desperately hoping Luka can play some part in game 2 to give themselves any chance.

Timberwolves 130, Grizzlies 117

Anthony Edwards was outstanding for the Timberwolves as he outscored Memphis star Ja Morant 36 to 32. Karl-Anthony Towns was also solid on the night as he chipped in with 29 points. Morant led the Grizzlies in scoring and assists with eight but missed his only two 3-point attempts.
