Newcastle new owners have finally sacked Steve Bruce. The owners allowed him to e in charge of Newcastle for his 1000th game as a manager on Sunday. Newcastle lost at home against Tottenham on Sunday 2-3. Steve Bruce leaves with a  €8M pay-off.

Bruce`s Last Dance?

Following his departure, Bruce opened up about his struggles throughout his time as Newcastle manager in an interview with The Telegraph, stating: “I think this might be my last job … it has been very, very tough. To never really be wanted, to read people constantly saying I would fail, that I was useless, a fat waste of space, a stupid, tactically inept cabbage-head.”

Steven Gerrard, Lucien Favre, Paulo Fonseca are among the favorites to land the job. Graeme Jones will be in charge of The Toon temporarily.

Now the Newcastle board will have the job of hunting for a new manager. They will be looking for a manager that can kickstart something new at the Tyneside club.

What’s Next For Newcastle United?

Before the takeover, Newcastle were already one of the biggest clubs in England, but the takeover will make the club aim higher. That is why they will be looking for a top manager that can create a solid foundation.

A manager that can do what Mourinho did at Chelsea from 2004-2007. They’ll be looking for a manager who can do the same thing that Mancini did for Manchester City.

Fonseca To Become Newcastle Coach?

Reports suggest that former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca is the favorite for the job. Fonseca left Roma in May and almost became Tottenham’s coach in the summer.

Steven Gerrard’s name has also been thrown into the mix. The current Rangers coach remains focused on his job in Scotland but could be tempted.

Whoever Newcastle appoints has a mammoth job of managing immediate expectations and putting a proper team together.
