Deshaun Watson was traded to the Cleveland Browns from the Houston Texans for a 2022 first-round draft pick, 2023 first- and third-round picks and 2024 first and fourth-round picks. Cleveland also receives a 2024 fifth-round draft pick as part of the trade.

There has been some uproar in the sports world about the message this sends to fans, especially Women. Even without criminal charges, Watson could face sanctions from the NFL including a possible suspension.

Despite that, he still faces 22 active civil cases of sexual assault. However, the grand jury’s decision not to prosecute eliminated one barrier for the teams considering a deal for Watson. He met with the Saints, Panthers, Colts and Browns earlier this week. He had initially informed the Browns that he hoped to be traded elsewhere. However, he reconsidered that decision and is now on his way to the Cleveland Browns.
