The Rams showed perseverance and determination to defeat the Bengals 23-20 in the NFL Super Bowl 56 on Sunday.

The Rams were gritty and assured on both ends of the ball, thanks in large part to Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald. They came into this final as favourites and fought hard to live up to that billing. They fell behind and were dealt a major blow offensively. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a left knee injury and was eventually ruled out in the third quarter.

Cooper Kupp’s Performance

Due to the Rams struggles with their run game, there was extra pressure on Kupp. Like he has shown all season, he can rise to the occasion. He made an absolutely massive catch and then made the go-ahead touchdown grab from Matthew Stafford with 1:25 left in the fourth quarter. Kupp finished with eight catches for 92 yards and two scores and a well deserved Super Bowl MVP.

This was no easy win for the Rams. Trailing 20-16 with six minutes to go, Matthew Stafford led the Rams on a 79-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp. Kupp also converted a key fourth-down play earlier. Joe Burrow and the Bengals got the ball back with a minute and 25 left but Aaron Donald delivered the game-ending hit on fourth down.
