The NFL provided some mouthwatering clashes this past weekend. We take a look at a few of the talking points from the weekend’s action.

Rodgers strong case for MVP

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went into this game in a confident mood and performances like this one further validate his case for season MVP. Sunday’s game between the Chicago Bears and the Packers centered around comments he made about “owning” his rivals. He backed those comments up convincingly in a 45-30 blowout victory at Lambeau Field.

Rodgers completed 29-of-37 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns. Picking up his 22nd NFL career regular season victory over the Bears. Two of those touchdowns went to Davante Adams, who had 10 catches for 121 yards.

Bucs Prevail in overtime

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Buffalo Bills 33-27 in overtime. Tom Brady threw a 58-yard touchdown to Breshad Perriman and the Bucs, having surrendered a 21-point second-half lead, escaped with an overtime win. The Bucs are 10-3 and can clinch a division title with a win next week against the Saints.

Chiefs extend winning run.

The Kansas City Chiefs registered a statement victory on Sunday. They blew out the Raiders 48-9. The Chiefs dominated the game from the very beginning. Josh Jacobs fumbled on the first play. It was the first of three first-half turnovers committed by the Raiders, and the first of five first-half touchdowns scored by the Chiefs. The Chiefs held a 35-3 lead by the halftime break, as a result the 35 first-half points are the most points scored in any half by the Chiefs since 2019.

Sunday was easy work for Patrick Mahomes and the offense. The Chiefs registered 48 points, becoming the second-most registered in a regular-season game by a Mahomes-led team. The most came against the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, when the Chiefs fell 54-51.
