The Cleveland Browns finally granted Odell Beckham Jr his release.

“After careful consideration, internal discussions and conversations with Odell and his representation, we’ve determined that it is in the best interest of all parties involved that Odell no longer plays for the Cleveland Browns,”

Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry

He is expected to go through waivers unclaimed before hitting free agency. All that means is he will have the opportunity to sign with any team he wants. So far, the New Orleans Saints have been heavily linked to the wide receiver. Beckham was born in New Orleans and played at LSU.

Possible Destinations

Another possible destination to watch out for is the Seattle Seahawks. The prospect of Quarterback Russell Wilson playing alongside an elite wide receiver is one that the Seahawks front office has looked into in recent days. Odell Beckham would prefer to play for a contender alongside an elite level quarterback.

Beckham is a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with five 1,000-plus yard seasons to date. He has witnessed something of a decline recently. Since the start of last season, he has played in just 13 games. He recorded 40 catches for 551 yards and only three touchdowns. In six games this season, he did not record a single touchdown.

There are other teams that would be a good fit for Beckham Jr. He could team up with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He could work wonders with Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City but neither of those teams has shown any interest so far. Regardless of how it goes, Odell can be expected to sign for a new team soon.  All things being equal, He could be playing for his new team by Week 10.
