Chelsea have announced the signing of Italian talent Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan. The midfielder has signed a 6-year deal following a transfer worth €20M.
Cesare Casadei will not go out on loan, but instead train with Chelsea throughout this season. The Italian will be with Thomas Tuchel’s side and also Chelsea’s Under-21 side.
Cesare Casadei is a central midfielder who is very calm and mature on the ball. A technical, tough tackling midfielder who also knows how to arrive into the box when necessary. Casadei was a leader in his age group at Inter Milan. Although he never made a senior appearance for the Inter Milan, he is highly rated in Italy.
Chelsea’s “Top Talent” Project
Casadei joins the “top talents” project at Chelsea. The Blues have already signed Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, Omari Hutchinson from Arsenal, Gabriel Slonina from Chicago Fire, Tyler Dibbling from Southampton and also Zack Struge.
It’s a project that has the full backing of new owner Todd Boehly. Chelsea are trying to sign excellent youngsters in order to integrate them into the first team gradually. The Blues are well known for loaning players out, but for now, there are indications that most of their newly signed youngsters will stay.
According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, the recruitment of young talent by Chelsea is far from over as they look to start building for the next 5 years now.
