The Premier League weekend started with league leaders Arsenal dropping points at home to Southampton. Bukayo Saka’s dramatic late goal snatched a point from the jaws of defeat for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s men travel to the Etihad on Wednesday to face Manchester City in what could be the title decider. 

Pep’s men were in FA Cup action against Sheffield and now have two games in hand on Arsenal.

Newcastle give Spurs a Premier League battering

Elsewhere, Newcastle obliterated Tottenham 6-1 at home including 5 goals in the first 21 minutes. That victory put the Magpies third, 6 points ahead of Spurs, with the luxury of a game in hand.

The relegation battle got even more intense with Nottingham Forest losing 3-2 to Liverpool to leave them 19th while Southampton stay rooted to the foot of the table despite their spirited display at the Emirates. 

Leicester’s 2-1 win over Wolves moved them out of the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche’s Everton failed to find a way past Crystal Palace and now the Toffees are in a serious fight for their Premier League survival. 

Finally, West Ham smashed Bournemouth 4-0 to move closer to safety and leave the Cherries nervously looking over their shoulders.
