Late December and drama in the Premier League goes hand in hand. This matchweek, we were treated to some quality finishes, tactical battles and sublime plays in the Premier League, like always. Let’s rank the top 5 best players from matchweek 18 of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Andros Townsend
Townsend scored Luton Town’s winner against Newcastle as they picked up their 3rd win of the season. Ross Barkley had a fantastic game against Newcastle, but Townsend’s 25th minute strike proved to be enough for Luton.
Mario Lemina
Lemina dominated the midfield against Chelsea and was rewarded with a goal early in the second half. The Gabon midfielder was everywhere as he made 9 recoveries, 5 tackles and 4 interceptions and 3 clearances.
Mohamed Kudus
Kudus sealed the result for West Ham as they took down Manchester United at the London Stadium. Mohamed Kudus did more than just score a goal against United on Saturday. The Ghanaian completed the most dribbles (6), had the most tackles (4), and also won the most duels (14) against Erik ten Hag’s men.
Wilson Odobert
Odobert was immaculate for Burnley against Fulham. A quick one-two with Lyle Forster before releasing fantastic curlers past Leno to give Burnley a shock lead. He also gave the pass to Berge for Burnley’s second goal. A rare win for the clarets, orchestrated by the Frenchman.
Dominic Solanke
What a season Dominic Solanke is having. He scored a hat-trick away from home against Nottingham Forest, and his goals at the City ground just sums up the season the Chelsea academy graduate is having.
Solanke is the best player this week.
