Matchweek 21 took a little while to complete, because of the winter break, but Brighton and Wolves’ 0-0 draw on Monday wrapped things up for round 21. Kevin De Bruyne stole the show for Manchester City against Newcastle United in a 3-2 win. Liverpool and Arsenal got convincing wins, while Spurs got a point at Old Trafford against Manchester United, and more.

Rasmus Højlund
It has been a tumultuous first season so far for the Manchester United striker, but he was important in their draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Despite having the least touches in the game, Højlund was effective.
The Danish striker scored within the first 3 minutes of the game and also assisted Marcus Rashford for United’s second. Hojlund will hope his performance against Spurs is a sign of things to come this new year.
Gabriel Martinelli
Two Identical finishes right at the death for Gabriel Martinelli to spark up what has been a frustrating season for him on a personal note.
The Brazilian had only scored twice in the league for the Gunners before the game against Crystal Palace.
He came on for Leandro Trossard and took his chances cleanly, while also completing the most tackles in the match (3) despite playing less than 30 minutes.
Darwin Núñez
Nunez has been a little inconsistent in front of goal for Liverpool this season, but he was on hand to help The Reds cope with the absence of Mohamed Salah against Bournemouth.
The Uruguayan scored Liverpool’s opener at the Vitality Stadium with a composed finish. He also got his second goal right at the death. The former Benfica man met Jo Gomez’s cross inside the box, and applied a simple finish for Liverpool’s fourth.
Kevin De Bruyne
He is back!! The Belgian magician is back for Manchester City, and he came back with a big bang! Immediately making his mark after coming off the bench against Newcastle with a master-stroke of a finish to level the score for Manchester City.
Kevin De Bruyne also engineered City’s winner. His dreamy pass located Oscar Bobb inside the box, the young Norwegian was calm enough to manoeuvrer his way past Newcastle’s last line before slotting the ball home for 3-2.
Diogo Jota
What a fantastic player Diogo Jota is for Liverpool! The Portuguese rarely disappoints when fit. He led them as they secured a vital win against an in-form Bournemouth side without Mohamed Salah.
The former Wolves man was directly involved in 3 of the four goals Liverpool scored against Bournemouth (2G,1A). Hopefully, his form will carry the Merseyside club until Salah returns.
