Nigeria started their AFCON journey with an impressive 1-0 win over Egypt. However, Sudan could only fashion a 0-0 draw against Guinea-Bissau in their opening match. A win today will see Nigeria all but guarantee a place in the Knockout rounds of AFCON 2022.
Austin Eguavoen’s side are the favorites and are also expected to beat the 33rd ranked team in Africa convincingly today.

Sudan could only get a draw against Guinea-Bissau thanks to their goalkeeper Ali Abu-Eshrein who saved a penalty from Guinea-Bissau`s Pele. However, Nigeria looked comfortable against Egypt.
The only positive result for Nigeria will be a convincing victory. Also, after their performance against Egypt, The Super Eagles will hope to send another message to their rivals by dispatching Sudan convincingly. There have not been too many goals at this tournament, hopefully Nigeria can score more than once against Sudan today in Garoua.
However, The more realistic aim for Sudan will be a draw. Beating Nigeria is not impossible, but the Falcons of Jedaine will be hoping to keep it tight at the back and frustrate the Super Eagles, it will be an interesting match-up.
