PSG thrashed Real Madrid 4–0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, setting up a scintillating FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea. The English club qualified on Tuesday by beating Fluminense 2–0.
Match Report – PSG 4 v 0 Real Madrid
Fans went into this match expecting a competitive showing from both teams. Real Madrid, although still a little shaky, had shown signs of progress under new manager Xabi Alonso at the Club World Cup this summer.
With the return of Mbappé to the starting lineup, many hoped Real Madrid would put up a tough fight against the reigning champions of Europe, PSG. However, those hopes vanished inside the first ten minutes of the match.
With just five minutes gone, Real Madrid conceded the opening goal of the game as PSG’s press was causing lots of problems for the Spanish side.

Raul Asensio made a mistake inside the box, allowing PSG to win back the ball just a few meters from the Real Madrid goal. Although Thibaut Courtois tried to stop the goal by fouling Ousmane Dembélé, Fabian Ruiz slotted the ball home to capitalize quickly and steal an early lead against Real Madrid.

Just as Real Madrid fans were recovering from the horror of conceding first against PSG and the error that led to it, it happened again. This time, Antonio Rüdiger—an experienced defender—made an amateurish mistake.
Rüdiger received the ball inside his own half but failed to react quickly to the ever-pressing Ousmane Dembélé, who closed in fast. The former Chelsea defender lost the ball to the Frenchman, who blazed past him and raced through on goal. Dembélé scored his 35th goal of the season to make it 2–0 inside 10 minutes.
PSG’s Domination Continues…

Real Madrid tried to get back into the game, but PSG’s press and compactness overwhelmed Los Blancos. The Parisians added a third with a brilliant team goal finished by Fabian Ruiz before the 30th-minute mark, sealing their place in the final.
Real Madrid managed to avoid conceding a fourth goal in the first half, but they failed to hold off PSG in the second. The French side finished off the Spanish giants with a fourth goal through Gonçalo Ramos.

They will play against Chelsea in the first final of the new FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday, the 13th of July, at the MetLife Stadium.

Chelsea themselves defeated Fluminense 2–0 to qualify for the final of the Club World Cup. Chelsea’s new signing Joao Pedro scored two amazing goals to help the Blues past Thiago Silva and his stubborn Fluminense side.
