- Carvajal, Vasquez not good enough as Real eye defensive reinforcements for next season
Real Madrid are targeting Chelsea’s right-back Reece James as Los Blancos would like to reinforce their defence going into next season. Los Blancos have Carvajal and Vasquez (both 31-years-old) as their go-to options at right-back this season with Odriozola also not trusted by manager Carlo Ancelotti, The Spanish side are looking to solve the problem by signing Reece James.
Reece James, who earlier this season signed a new deal till the summer of 2028 with the Stamford Bridge side, will be incredibly hard to price away from West London. The new Chelsea owners see Reece James as one of the leaders of the team and, possibly, the future captain of the club. With that said, Real Madrid have pulled off harder deals.
James is one of the most highly rated right-backs in world football, with his powerful physique, and willingness to do the dirty job at the back. James is one of the best young defenders around. He is also sound in attack, armed with excellent deliveries and the ability to finish chances too. Real will also look at the possibility of signing the want-away Manchester City star João Cancelo, who is currently on loan in Germany with Bayern Munich.
Although, Real Madrid are ready to tempt Chelsea in the summer with a top offer for the English defender, the Spanish club will consider other names if they fail to get him.
I’d do anything for this transfer to happen. I am tired of Carvajal
