Real Madrid have completed a shock move for Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella. Los Blancos sealed the deal for the Spanish defender in one day by agreeing to a €60 million deal (including add-ons) for the 27-year-old defender. Chelsea and Real Madrid both confirmed the deal on Monday morning ahead of Spain’s first match at the World Cup against Cape Verde.

Marc Cucurella joined Chelsea back in 2022 when BlueCo bought the club from Roman Abramovich. The Spanish left-back has become one of the best in his position in the world since that time. He won the Euros with Spain, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the Conference League with Chelsea. He also played in the finals of two domestic cups but lost both.

He has signed a six-year contract at Real Madrid to link up with Jose Mourinho on his new project at the club, as Los Blancos hope to recapture their winning touch under the Portuguese manager.

Marc Cucurella joins Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate as Mourinho adds depth, experience, and more tenacity to the underperforming Real Madrid squad.
