Senegal pipped Egypt to the AFCON Title at the final of AFCON 2021.
Egypt were looking for their 8th title while Senegal were in search of their first.
The Teranga Lions looked the better team throughout. Egyptian goalkeeper kept out Senegal for most of the match. However Senegal could have taken the lead early in the game, but Sadio Mane’s penalty miss meant nothing separated the sides for 120 minutes.

Egypt missed their first penalty at AFCON 2021 when Abdelmonem hit the bar with his spot-kick. Senegal failed to take advantage as Bouna Sarr saw his penalty kick saved by the impressive Abougabal.
Chelsea goalkeeper then set the stage for Sadio Mane as he smothered Mohanad Lasheen’s penalty. Mane made up for his earlier miss with a ferocious strike to seal Senegal’s first AFCON Triumph.
