Moses Simon Instrumental Again As Super Eagles Beat Sudan 3-1 In Garoua.

It was about the halves for the Super Eagles today in Garoua. Incredible starts to the first and second half wrapped up an impressive victory for Nigeria.


Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring after just 3 minutes with a cool finish inside the box.


Taiwo Awoniyi’s tame header was not held well by the Sudanese goalie and the Union Berlin striker got his first goal at AFCON 2022 just before halftime. Immediately after the restart, Impressive Moses Simon wrapped up the 3 points with a close finish in the box-18.

Match Summary.
It was an easy win for the Super Eagles who are now through to the last-16. Chukwueze, Awoniyi, and Moses Simon all chipped in with the goals as Wilfred Ndidi commanded the midfield once again. However, The Falcons of Jedaine scored a consolation goal via the penalty spot, Waileldin Khidir converted for the Sudanese team.

Moses Simon’s Influence

He has been arguably Nigeria’s best player so far at AFCON 2022, and he also registered a goal and an assist today which earned him the man of the match award.


His pace and direct runs is helping Nigeria break defenses with ease. Hopfully, he continues his good form, and also that the Super Eagles do not lose their intensity in the next match against Guinea-Bissau
