- Thomas Tuchel hoping for better luck in Munich after Bayern Munich’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City
The German trainer returned to England for the first time since he was sacked by Chelsea to take on Manchester City. The Mancunians were 3–0 winners at home, despite Bayern Munich’s performance later in the game. City midfielder Rodri opened the scoring with a curling screamer, before goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland secured the win.
The former Chelsea boss has hailed the performance of his side despite the 3-0 loss, claiming he fell in-love with his side after their performance at the Etihad. He also hinted that playing in Germany could produce a different outcome for the Bavarians.
“This does not feel like a 3-0 but it is a 3-0, and it is a huge, huge task now to turn this around. We are realistic, but we will not give up,” said Tuchel afterwards. “It will not be over until we are in the shower.”
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola also understands that the tie is not over until the final whistle at the Allianz Arena. ” We have to do something in Munich at a little bit better not to suffer too much. We will try to do it. “I have been there many times. I know this team is special. To knock out these top teams you need two top games, not one.”
