The Timberwolves trailed by four points entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Warriors 33-24 to secure the victory. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 36 points, while Julius Randle added a triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.
For the Warriors, Jimmy Butler scored 33 points in the absence of injured star Steph Curry, and Jonathan Kuminga added 27 points.
However, the team struggled without Curry’s spacing and Draymond Green’s defensive presence, who fouled out late in the game. The Timberwolves capitalized on this, scoring 18 points in the final five minutes.
The Warriors now face pressure as they try to extend their season, with Game 4 coming up on Monday night.
Coach Steve Kerr may need to adjust his rotation, and there’s concern about Jimmy Butler’s durability after playing 43 minutes despite being injured. The Warriors need a win to stay alive in the series.
