- Liverpool Beat Leicester to put more pressure on Newcastle and Manchester United
Jürgen Klopp’s men were efficient away at Leicester city, the Merseyside club continued their late season charge as they look to sneak into the top 4.
Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah were the stars on Monday night at the King Power stadium. Youngster Curtis Jones was at the end of a classic Liverpool move just after the half-hour mark.
Three minutes later, Jones timed his run perfectly to slam home the second for Liverpool. After the second goal, Leicester created a few chances, but just like their story has been all through this season, they failed to capitalize.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was on hand again to curl home a fantastic free kick after a nice set-piece set-up flick by Mohamed Salah, who registered 3 assists on the night.
Liverpool Ready To Steal Top 4 Spot
Manchester United and Newcastle have to be worried with Liverpool’s scary form. The Reds have won each of their last seven matches in the Premier League, and they haven’t lost since their defeat at the Etihad on April Fools’ Day.
Liverpool have two more games this season, A visit from in-form Aston Villa and also a trip away to Saint Mary’s to face an already relegated Southampton side.
Manchester United still have a tricky tie against Chelsea, a tough trip away to Bournemouth, and a home game against Fulham on the final day. Newcastle will play against Brighton and away against Chelsea. They simply have to win all their remaining matches to secure their top 4 status this season.
The Reds smell an opportunity, and they will be waiting to capitalize on any mistake from either Newcastle or Manchester United.
