Premier League gameweek 26 started and ended with two entertaining 4–2 matches. Arsenal continue their immaculate vein of form as they thrashed Newcastle. Manchester City dug deep to come away with a 1-0 win away at Bournemouth. Fulham stun Manchester United, and Crystal Palace look revitalized.
Let’s rank the top 5 best players from Gameweek 26 of the 2023/24 English Premier League season.
Phil Foden
Foden has been Manchester City’s best attacker this season. The Englishman has stepped up for Manchester City whenever they’ve needed inspiration this season. His goal was the difference between a stubborn Bournemouth side and the defending Champions.
Jordan Ayew
Ayew’s role at Crystal Palace is a bit underrated, and that might be because he is as flashy as the likes of Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise. The Ghanaian is super important for The Eagles, and he showed exactly that against Burnley. He scored and assisted a goal as Palace looked energetic again under new manager Oliver Glasner.
Kai Havertz
An impressive outing for Kai Havertz against Newcastle. The German was everywhere for the Gunners. He made 7 recoveries, scored a goal, provided an assist, and made two vital interceptions. He was efficient in a tricky tie against the Magpies.
Douglas Luiz
What a season Douglas Luiz is having. 9 goals and 5 assists from midfield is an outstanding return for the 25-year-old Brazilian.
Luiz has been a major cog for Unai Emery since he took over at Villa park, and the Spanish manager seems to have improved the Brazilian’s game all round. Luiz scored two brilliant goals against Nottingham Forest as Villa keep pushing for a UCL spot.
Jarrod Bowen
Bowen has been West Ham’s best player for over a year now, and after a mini drought, he was back on the scoresheet against Brentford. Bowen scored two goals in the first 7 minutes to shock Brentford fans, before sealing his hat-trick with a 63rd minute finish.
Jarrod Bowen is the best player in matchweek 26 of the 2023/24 English Premier League season.
