- Is Bayern Munich The Perfect Club For Thomas Tuchel?
Bayern Munich have confirmed Thomas Tuchel as their new manager following the sacking of Julian Nagglesmann.
Bayern Munich sacked the former Leipzig coach because they felt he was not developing their players enough and some other uninspiring behaviours off the pitch, which reportedly was beginning to cause unrest among players. They’ve now signed a top manager in Thomas Tuchel who understands what it means to unite a squad.
Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich – How do they fit?
In Thomas Tuchel’s last job as the manager of Chelsea football club, he accomplished so much in such a short time. However, his disagreement with new owners proved fatal, as he lost his job last September. Tuchel has always talked about being able to focus on football. When he left PSG, he mentioned how he got involved in some player’s personal lives. A similar scenario happened towards the end of his time at Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel had to deal with working directly with new owners, which wasn’t the norm under Roman Abramovich.
Tuchel enjoys being in charge of his team, and out of board problems, it seems that is what Bayern want. With a capable board featuring the likes of Oliver Khan, Jan Christian Dreesen, and the day-to-day Sporting project being run by Hasan Salihamidzic, Thomas Tuchel will be able to focus on developing his players.
Salihamidzic, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, was not happy with what he saw in Bayern’s 2-1 loss to Leverkusen. He stated that the team lacked drive, effort, desire, mentality, and assertiveness.
Tuchel was able to put a team full of stars together in Paris to make them challenge for the UCL trophy, getting PSG to their best ever UCL finish (runners-up in 2020); that is the sort of trait Bayern Munich wants
