Valentin Barco is highly rated in Argentina. The 17-year-old currently plays for Boca Juniors. Barco is also referred to as “El Colo.”
The young left-back was tracked by the same scout that discovered Carlos Teves, Juan Roman Riquelme, and Esteban Cambiasso.
Valentin Barco To Manchester City
The youngster has had talks with Manchester City as he continues to attract interest from Europe. Some outlets suggest that Barco is Manchester City-bound.
It is not surprising that Pep Guardiola and Manchester City want to sign 17-year-old Valentine Barco. The youngster has proved that he can play with the big boys. He became the fourth-youngest footballer to play for Boca Juniors earlier this year.
Life at Boca Juniours Academy was a little unsettling at first for Barco. However, the youngster was determined to be successful as a footballer.
His mother told Convergencias in 2019 about how Barco would time himself just to make time for school and football. She stated: “He would get up at five in the morning to study, then we would go to La Candela and return at 10 p.m.” There were times when we only had enough money for gas and the toll. He would train when he had a fever.”
Barco was previously a winger, but as his coaches saw that he could be more dangerous coming from deep, they placed him in the left-back position. Barco has represented Argentina at youth levels, From the Under-15s to Under 16s.
The Argentine was signed by Addidas at the tender age of 14 and that shows how much talent he has.
Despite playing as a left-back, Barco showed how much quality he has. The youngster was instrumental as Argentina won the Vlatko Markovic youth tournament in Croatia.
Barco was named on The Guardian’s next-generation list for the year 2021. Barco has everything he needs to become one of the best players of his generation.
