Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid this coming summer, as Los Blancos need a strong replacement for the aging Dani Carvajal.

The Liverpool-born right-back has reportedly told the Liverpool management that he will not be extending his contract at Anfield, as he wants a move to the Spanish champions.
Many football news outlets reported yesterday that negotiations have started for a summer move and that Trent Alexander-Arnold is close to agreeing to a long-term deal with Real Madrid.
Although Liverpool fans might not like this move, it makes perfect sense for Trent and also for Real Madrid.
Another Superstar… For Free
Real Madrid will be signing another top, proven superstar for free, just a year after bringing in Kylian Mbappé without paying a transfer fee.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will finish his current contract at Liverpool in two months, and Real Madrid are moving ahead of other clubs that might want to snap up the English right-back—without paying compensation or a transfer fee to Liverpool, where Trent has been playing since the age of six.
Undeniable Quality
For the past six years, Trent has been one of the best full-backs in the world. The Englishman made his debut for Liverpool in 2016, and since then, he has made over 260 Premier League appearances for the Reds, scoring 17 times and providing 64 assists.
Real Madrid will be getting a top, technically sound, creative right-back just entering his prime years—for free instead of paying upwards of £70 million for the 26-year-old.

Tactical Flexibility
With Trent joining Real Madrid, the right-hand side of Los Blancos’ attack and midfield will get a much-needed boost.
Trent is capable of playing further forward, and with his undeniable ability to pick the right pass, working with Valverde, Rodrygo, Brahim, and Güler around the right side of Real Madrid’s midfield will make them even more dangerous next season.
It would have been a much better scenario if Liverpool got the sizable transfer fee they deserve, but there is no doubt about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s quality and how much Liverpool will miss him. However, he is going to a team that is an upgrade on Liverpool, and a side full of players hungry for more success. This transfer, on paper, looks like the perfect one for both the club (not Liverpool) and the player.
