EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Amorim informs Manchester United squad he will be in charge next season + tells Alejandro Garnacho to find new club. Happened during meeting between Portuguese head coach & #MUFC players at Carrington training base today @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/7GqJU4X6Ia
Manager Ruben Amorim left Garnacho on the bench for the final, a decision the winger seemed to hint at hours earlier by posting a photo on Instagram of his goal from last year’s FA Cup final.
After a lively substitute appearance in Bilbao, the 20-year-old expressed frustration with United’s “poor” season and questioned Amorim’s choice to bench him. When asked about his future, Garnacho simply said, “We’ll see.”
On Saturday, Amorim addressed the situation, saying, “I always speak to my players, but the focus now is on the last game. I don’t know what’s going to happen.

“We have a plan and we’ve prepared for both scenarios, with or without the Champions League. We have an idea of the squad we want, but now we need to focus on the final match, and we’ll deal with everything else later.”
United previously turned down a £40 million bid from Serie A champions Napoli for Garnacho during the winter transfer window. With his contract running until 2028, the club is likely to demand a higher fee for the young winger.
