Ahead of a highly charged London derby between the two London clubs next week, here are some reasons why Chelsea cannot challenge Arsenal for The Premier League title
Chelsea are now second on the Premier League table after their win over the weekend against Burnley. The Blues are 6 points off Arsenal, and one point above Manchester City.

This makes Chelsea the closest rival to Arsenal on the table, and many are tipping Chelsea to push Arsenal, but here are reasons why Chelsea might fail to compete with Arsenal for the 2025/26 Premier League title.
Inconsistent Blues
Enzo Maresca and Chelsea fans can make an excuse for losing two out of the 3 matches they have lost in the Premier League this season, given they were down to 10 men for their losses against Manchester United and Brighton.

However, the manner of their loss against Sunderland is one of the most important reasons why Chelsea is a stable top 4 side, but not a Premier League challenger yet.
The Blues have a young squad and a relatively new attack with players just getting to know each other. It will take some time before they can challenge for the Premier League, unlike Arsenal.
Unstable defence
Attacks win you games, but defences win you titles
- Sir Alex Ferguson.
Arsenal are not leading the Premier League title because they have the best attack in the League, but because their defence is the best in Europe.
The Gunners have mastered the art of limiting their opponents to a few shots on target per game, and that has worked wonders for them, as they have only conceded 6 times this season in the League.

As for Chelsea, without their best defender and defensive leader, Levi Colwill, they look very fragile at the back in most games. The Blues have lost matches this season because of defensive errors, and that is not a trait of a team that can seriously challenge for the Premier League title.
